Astro Rendering

Purpose

Select and implement the rendering strategy for an Astro site: fully static, fully server-rendered, or hybrid — and understand prerendering, on-demand rendering, and server islands well enough to place every route correctly.

When to Use

Activate when the task involves:

• choosing between static, server, or hybrid output
• configuring output or per-route prerender
• adding or replacing an adapter
• deciding whether a route is built at build time or rendered on demand
• server islands (server:load components)
• diagnosing why a route renders differently in dev vs production
• caching on-demand responses
