Astro Server

Purpose

Implement the request-time layer of an Astro app: endpoints that answer HTTP requests with data, middleware that runs on every request, cookies and sessions for state, and the server context that carries request information through pages and components.

When to Use

Activate when the task involves:

• API endpoints (.ts/.js in src/pages/) — JSON, files, streaming responses
• middleware (src/middleware.ts): auth checks, logging, header injection, i18n negotiation
• cookies: reading, setting, deleting, options
• sessions: storing user state across requests
• Astro.request, Astro.locals, response manipulation
• request-time logic on server-rendered pages
