Astro Testing

Purpose

Test Astro projects at the right layers: pure logic in unit tests, server behavior (actions, endpoints, middleware) in integration tests, islands in component tests, and whole flows in E2E tests — with the production build as the final gate.

When to Use

Activate when the task involves:

• writing tests for Astro code
• choosing a test stack (vitest, Playwright, testing-library)
• testing actions, endpoints, or middleware
• testing island components
• E2E flows for critical paths (auth, checkout, search)
