Astro UI Framework Selection

Purpose

Decide whether an interactive component needs a UI framework at all, and if so, which one — balancing ecosystem needs, runtime cost, and team skill against the Astro islands model.

When to Use

Activate when the task involves:

• deciding whether to add a UI framework to an Astro project
• choosing between React, Preact, Vue, Svelte, Solid, or Lit
• a component that needs interactivity beyond HTML/CSS
• comparing framework tradeoffs for a specific feature
• reviewing an existing framework choice
