Astro Version Awareness

Purpose

Establish the exact version matrix of a project before any version-sensitive work, and keep API usage aligned with the installed versions. Version drift is the most common source of "docs said X, but it fails" — this skill eliminates that class of error.

When to Use

Activate when the task involves:

• starting work on an existing Astro project
• applying an API that changed across Astro majors (content config, actions, middleware, output/prerender, image service)
• upgrading Astro, an adapter, or an integration
• diagnosing failures caused by version mismatches
• deciding whether an example from docs or a blog applies to this project
• authoring or updating skills in this suite
