Azure Functions with the Azure SQL bindings
Two bindings and a trigger. The bindings are straightforward. The trigger has a prerequisite that fails without failing the app, which is what this skill exists for.
Every command and C# block below was measured 2026-09-03 against Core Tools 4.12.0, .NET SDK
8.0.421 and Microsoft.Azure.Functions.Worker.Extensions.Sql 3.1.536. Error numbers are
from Microsoft Learn.

The bindings open their own connections, so that pooling advice is about code you write inside the function.
