SQL Server to Azure SQL Database using BACPAC

When to Use

• Migrate one or more SQL Server user databases to Azure SQL Database using BACPAC export and import.
• Perform an offline Azure SQL Database migration with SqlPackage.

Help a user migrate one or all user databases from SQL Server to Azure SQL Database using an offline BACPAC workflow. A BACPAC contains the database schema and data. It does not preserve instance-level objects, server configuration, SQL Agent jobs, or a transactionally consistent online migration.

Use this skill when the user asks to migrate a SQL Server database to Azure SQL Database with BACPAC, SqlPackage, import/export, or an offline database move.
