1. Preserve the exact public source URL supplied by the user.
2. Read it with the smry MCP read_public_source tool, smry --query "<claim terms>" "<public-url>", or GET https://r.smry.ai/api/v1/read?url=<percent-encoded-public-url> with the request header X-Smry-Query: <claim terms>.
3. Search for the claim's distinctive terms, then broaden to likely synonyms if no result appears. Absence from a focused search is not proof that the source lacks the claim.
4. Retrieve the surrounding paragraph window before judging context.
