A dashboard is a tool, not a trophy case. The moment a chart or card exists to look impressive, it is slop.

Metric cards

• Avoid the four identical metric cards ("Revenue", "Users", "Uptime", "Growth") always laid out the same, each with a sparkline that means nothing. (C-10)
• Every number needs: a source and a period. +23% with no "of what / since when" is a fake metric. (H-1)
• Only show a metric that drives a decision. If nobody acts on it, cut it. A dashboard is a list of decisions, not a wall of numbers.
• Vary the card emphasis by importance — the number someone checks daily should be visually more important than a vanity count.
