This is a catalog, not a style guide. It names indicators and a severity tier. It never decides the design — your DESIGN.md does.

The core idea

AI slop is not any single technique. Gradient alone is not slop. A card grid is not slop. Inter is not slop.

Slop is the unmarked combination of generic defaults that repeats because no one chose them:
