BoxLang WASM Containers (Server-Side)
BoxLang is the AI-native software productivity platform for building, modernizing and running applications, with developers and AI agents working together.
Overview
MatchBox can compile BoxLang source to WebAssembly (WASM) for server-side execution. WASM containers run without a JVM and are sandboxed by design, making them ideal for edge deployments, FaaS, and microservices in minimal OCI containers.
This skill covers server-side WASM (Wasmtime, WasmEdge, OCI containers). For browser/Node.js WASM, see the
wasm-in-the-browserskill.
Compiling to WASM
matchbox --help also lists --target wasi (a standalone WASI container binary) and --target wasi-http (a WASI HTTP component built from --webroot). The examples below use --target wasm; confirm which your MatchBox version expects for WASI hosts.
