Turn an aligned conversation into a spec. This skill synthesizes; it does not interview. The design questions were settled before you were invoked — if you find yourself wanting to ask one, that is the signal the conversation is not ready, and the answer is /grill, not a question.

Preconditions

  1. The conversation has settled. Usually /grill just ended with the user confirming shared understanding. Scan the conversation for open questions: any live decision, any "we'll figure out later" that was never revisited, any unresolved disagreement. Something material still open — say so, name it, and stop. The user can settle it and re-invoke.
  2. The repo config exists. The spec is published to the tracker docs/agentic-skills/tracker.md pins. No such file in the target repo — say so and point at /agentic-skills-init instead of guessing a destination.

Gather

  • Read the target repo's config under docs/agentic-skills/ — stack.md so nothing in the spec contradicts the pinned stack, tracker.md for where the artifact goes.
  • Read GLOSSARY.md and docs/adr/ when present. Use the glossary's vocabulary throughout the spec — its terms, not their rejected synonyms — and when the spec touches a recorded decision, cite the ADR rather than restating it. A spec that contradicts an ADR is a conflict to surface out loud, never a quiet override.
  • When documents.md pins a live document set — a doc root holding an activity list — the set is grounding too (ADR 0007): mine it alongside the conversation, cite FR/UC IDs in Implementation Decisions instead of restating what they say, and name a still-Draft set in Further Notes when you cite one. With no pinned set, this skill behaves exactly as before.
  • Mine the conversation for the raw material: every settled decision, the terms that crystallized, what was explicitly pushed out, anything the grilling overturned on the way to the answer.
  • Fill gaps by looking at the repo, never by asking. A gap you cannot look up and that materially shapes the design is not a gap — it is an unsettled question, and it sends you back to precondition 1.
