Brand Strategy and Distinctive Assets
Decides how a brand becomes easier to think of and easier to buy: which buying situations to own, which brand elements to protect or drop, how far to reach beyond today's buyers, how to balance brand building with sales activation, and how to track it. It serves owners, marketing leads and agency planners, from Kampala SMEs and online sellers to regional and B2B brands.
Use When
- Buyers forget the brand in the moments they buy the category; a rival gets picked first although the product is as good.
- Which colours, logo, jingle, mascot or pack shape do buyers recognise as ours, which get confused with competitors, and which should be kept, built or dropped before a redesign?
- The owner wants a split between building the brand for next year and pushing sales this month.
- The team only chases people ready to buy now, while buyers who will need the product next year, including company buyers, forget it.
- The client wants proof memory and sales are growing over time, not only clicks, from a survey affordable in Uganda or Kenya.
- An online shop sells what every other Jumia, Kilimall or Instagram seller sells and only wins on price.
