Gameplay Review
Use this skill when functional testing is not enough and the question is whether the game feels strong enough to publish.
Workflow
- Run or inspect the current build on its best platform first
- Judge the first 15 seconds, core loop clarity, control clarity, and danger or reward readability
- Check whether the build supports a real session and a reason to replay
- Separate blocking issues from polish issues
- Decide whether to keep improving, relist, or rethink the concept or scope
Rules
- do not let listing art or marketing language hide a weak build
- if the strongest raw screenshot or first playable moment still feels prototype-grade, stop before listing work
- call out when the core loop, fantasy, or audience promise are misaligned
- if the loop is fundamentally weak, hand back to planning or scope instead of recommending surface polish
