Human-Facing Writing

Writing works when meaning, voice, and necessary complexity take a form that the reader can follow. This skill applies that principle to everything from a single label to long-form, structured writing.

Workflow

Choose the route for the requested writing task. An explicit change takes precedence when the request also uses review or audit language.

  • Drafting: Produce the complete authorized writing unit from the user’s intent and available material.
  • Editing: Preserve the supplied writer’s meaning, material decisions, and recognizable voice while improving the requested dimensions.
  • Implementation: Apply the relevant writing route to task-owned human-facing wording as part of the feature.
  • Review: Keep review-only work read-only. Report only concrete problems under the applicable route, and do not rewrite the work or present optional preferences as defects.
  • Consistency: For an explicit consistency request, apply the relevant route across the named family without expanding into behaviorally distinct surfaces.

Writing Principles

Start with the authorized writing unit: the exact writing the task permits you to create, change, or evaluate. Establish where it will appear, the reader it must serve, its immediate purpose, and what should change in the reader’s understanding, feeling, judgment, or action. Make its purpose and value clear early enough to earn attention, without manufacturing urgency or stripping away necessary complexity.

Make every part earn its place. An atomic unit is a self-contained writing element, such as a label, title, or short message. Give it one clear job. For a heading, make the section’s controlling idea, action, question, contrast, or conventional role recognizable in short, natural wording. In connected prose, let each sentence, paragraph, and section move the idea, experience, or action forward rather than repeat what the reader already knows.
