Specialist knowledge on listener acquisition and growth used by the distribution-manager agent when designing distribution packages.
Why This Skill Is Needed
Great content is a necessary condition, not a sufficient one. There are 5 million+ podcasts worldwide. If it isn't discovered, it might as well not exist.
Platform-Specific Metadata Optimization
Apple Podcasts
| Field | Optimization Rule | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Primary keyword at the front (under 40 chars) | Search algorithm prioritizes front-loaded indexing |
| Subtitle | Secondary keywords not in the title (under 60 chars) | Expands search reach; duplication is penalized |
| Description | Core value + listener benefit in first 2 sentences | Only 160 chars shown in preview |
| Episode Title | Avoid "Episode N:" format | Explicitly discouraged by Apple |
| Category | 1 main + 2 sub-categories | Enables simultaneous exposure on 3 charts |
