Before You Start

Ask these questions (skip if obvious):

1. Content inventory: What content, features, or data exists in the application?
2. Users: Who are the primary users? What are their roles?
3. Mental models: How do users think about this content? (by task? by category? by frequency?)
4. Primary tasks: What are the top 3-5 things users do most often?
5. Scale: How many items/pages are we organizing? Will it grow?
