Design Patterns Skill (TypeScript)

SPECIALIZATION: This skill is optimized for TypeScript backend systems, libraries, services, CLIs, APIs, and systems code. All guidance assumes TypeScript's type system, interfaces, generics, decorators, and access modifiers are available.

CONTEXT RESTRICTION: Apply ONLY to TypeScript backend code. DO NOT activate for React, Next.js, Vue.js, Angular, Svelte, or any frontend component framework. Component frameworks have prescriptive architectures that differ fundamentally from Gang of Four patterns; apply framework-specific conventions instead.

Design patterns are proven, named solutions to recurring software design problems. TypeScript's features—strong typing, interfaces, decorators, and generics—make patterns safer, more readable, and faster to implement correctly. The goal is always better code — readable, maintainable, testable, extensible — not pattern count.
