Release Dispatch

The router behind /release. It owns one job: turn a subcommand into the right release action and delegate. It does not contain release logic of its own — CI gating + cut/PR live in release-pr-gates, semver + patch notes live in release. Branch/worktree pruning is git-cleanup's job (the /cleanup command), not a release mode. Trunk-based throughout: releases are tags cut from the trunk; staging and production are deployment environments driven by CI/CD and tags, not branch promotions.

Composition Boundary

Run only the selected mode. Pass the user's target, authorized actions, and report-only restrictions to the engine. Existing explicit approval satisfies that engine's gate for the same scope; obtain approval for missing or expanded authority. Delegation never grants new host, provider, cost, publication, or production permissions. An empty or advisory mode starts no mutating workflow.
