Why Post-Event Follow-Up is Critical

Events are the highest-ROI lead generation channel in B2B sales -- but only if the follow-up is executed well. The data is stark:

  • 48% of event leads go completely cold within 5 days without any follow-up (Bizzabo, 2023). Nearly half of the leads you paid thousands to acquire evaporate because nobody sends an email.
  • The first rep to follow up wins 78% of the time (InsideSales.com / XANT). Speed is the single strongest predictor of event lead conversion.
  • Personalized follow-ups convert 4.5x better than generic "great meeting you" emails (HubSpot event marketing study). Referencing a specific conversation or topic discussed at the event is the minimum bar.
