Electricity (חשמל):

• Israel Electric Corporation (IEC / חברת החשמל) owns transmission, distribution, and meter reading
• The household supply market is open: as of 2026 roughly 360,000 customers have moved to private suppliers and the count keeps climbing
• Tariffs are set by the Electricity Authority (רשות החשמל)
• Time-of-use (TOU) pricing available for smart-meter customers (about 1M meters / ~30% of households as of 2026)

Water (מים):

• Mekorot (מקורות) is the national water company supplying bulk water
• Municipal water corporations (taagidei mayim) handle local distribution
• Tiered pricing: ascending block tariff system where price per cubic meter increases with consumption
