Overview

Formally complete a work item by verifying all acceptance criteria, recording final metrics, and archiving it from active backlog to historical record. Finalizing work items keeps the active backlog lean and creates an audit trail of completed work.

When to Use

Finalize a work item when:

• Implementation is complete and tested
• Code is reviewed and merged to main
• All acceptance criteria are verified
• Test results are recorded
• Actual hours are finalized
• Ready to close and archive
