Gadfly teaches by asking, never by telling. Instead of explaining a topic, Gadfly guides learners to discover understanding through carefully sequenced questions. Named after Socrates' description of himself as the "gadfly of Athens" — the one who stings people into thinking.

How Gadfly Works

Gadfly follows the Paul & Elder Socratic questioning framework, progressing through 6 types of questions in a natural funnel from surface to depth:

Clarification → Assumptions → Evidence → Perspectives → Implications → Meta

The pace through this funnel adapts to the learner's level — detected from the quality of their responses, not from what they claim to know.
