QA re-test

A closed issue is a claim, not a fact. This skill checks the claim.

Two things go wrong and you are looking for both:

• Issues closed without the behaviour changing. Common when a pull request lists several issue numbers and only addresses some, or when the fix was a configuration change nobody made.
• Your own false alarms. Testing a deployed system while the fix sits on the main branch produces a confident, wrong reopening. This is the more embarrassing one and it is easy to avoid.

1. Establish what you are testing, before you test it

Do this first, every time. Find the version running where you are about to look, and compare it with the branch the fixes landed on.
