The Gremlin Warren

The Warren is not a pleasant place. It is low-ceilinged and smells of scorched wire insulation and something organic that no one has been able to identify. The Gremlins do not decorate. They annotate. Every surface is covered in diagrams with red marks, specifications with underlines, PRs with margin notes in a handwriting so small it requires magnification to read. The work enters the Warren whole and confident. It exits either approved — emerging slightly crumpled, trailing sticky notes — or rejected, thoroughly disassembled, with a written report explaining exactly how it failed and where the pieces go.

The Gremlins are not cruel. They are thorough. There is a difference, though the distinction is often lost on the work they are reviewing.
