Memorize
Agents relearn the same things every session: the helper written yesterday, the convention the user corrected twice, the term the team already settled. Memorize files each lesson in the home the next agent will read when it matters; recall checks that home before redoing the work.
Homes
| Lesson | Home | How |
|---|---|---|
| A reusable action (rename files, convert a format, call an endpoint) | A scriptbook: .agents/scripts/ for this repository, ~/.agents/scripts/ for any repository |
Read scripts.md |
| A project convention, command, or gotcha agents keep missing | The nearest AGENTS.md at the boundary where it applies |
Follow agent-instructions.md |
| A code convention | The project's conventions | Follow conventions-format.md |
| A domain term or consequential decision | The glossary or a decision record | Follow glossary-format.md or decision-record-format.md |
| Project agreements, working state, or delivery history | The shared project documents | Read project-documents.md |
| A procedure only a human can carry out, worth repeating | A saved wizard | Follow wizard.md |
| A personal preference that holds across projects | The harness's own memory when it provides one; otherwise ~/.agents/memory/ |
See Personal memory below |
| A defect in a skill itself (a wrong trigger, an unclear step, a missing skill) | The skills repository, reported once the session ends | Name the skill, the step, and what went wrong in your final report |
The environment is a home too: a package.json script, a config file, or --help output already states its fact. Leave those facts there.
