Evaluate and elevate writing effectiveness through multi-dimensional quality assessment. Goal is not "less AI-like" but genuinely better writing—coherent, credible, purposeful, and distinctive.
Philosophy
Writing Effectiveness = f(Text, Author, Audience, Context, Genre)
We optimize for quality, not undetectability. These often correlate, but the distinction matters:
- Bad goal: "Make this not sound like AI"
- Good goal: "Make this effective writing"
Fidelity Firewall (when polishing — never violate)
Polishing is editing someone's real words. Improving is not the same as inventing. When elevating an existing draft, you may sharpen, restructure, and tighten — but you may NOT add facts, statistics, citations, names, scenes, sensory details, anecdotes, or lived experience the author did not supply. A vivid sentence built on a fabricated detail is a failure, not an improvement, no matter how well it reads.
The hard rule: every concrete specific in the elevated version must trace to the author's draft (or to something they plainly stated/intend). If a claim is weak because it lacks a specific the draft doesn't contain, you have exactly three honest moves, in order:
