SkillFinder External Scout

Responsibility

Find external skill candidates when Agentit's existing local catalog is insufficient. This is a scouting procedure, not a second semantic router.

task-router still decides what the task needs. using-agent-skills still controls delivery of installed Agentit bodies. The canonical find-skills package remains the lightweight user-facing discovery path. This skill adds a higher-recall semantic search option across large external registries.

Trigger contract

Use when:

• the user explicitly asks for the best skill across the ecosystem, all registries, or a very large skill catalog;
• a material specialized task has no credible Agentit/local skill owner and an external reusable workflow could materially improve execution;
• lightweight find-skills / skills.sh discovery did not produce strong candidates and broader semantic recall is justified.

Do not use when a current Agentit skill clearly owns the task, for trivial/common work, or merely because external skills exist. Do not turn every task into an ecosystem search.
