Wispr Flow
Wispr Flow is a macOS dictation app. It has no official CLI; it keeps everything in a local SQLite database, and scripts/wispr.py is the interface to it. Go through the script for every read and write, so the database internals stay in one place.
python3 <skill-dir>/scripts/wispr.py <command> --help
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
status |
Database path, whether the app is running, counts, and a schema check. Run it first; a CHANGED schema means an app update moved things, so stop and read the tables before writing. |
history --since 3h |
Dictations in a window. --since takes 30m, 3h, 2d, 1h30m, 1w; --from/--to take ISO dates in local time. --fields raw, formatted, edited, --app, --grep, --format json. |
count --since 48h TERM... |
How many dictations contain each term, whole word, any case, with an example. The source of every count you report. |
dict list |
Entries as a table. --kind words|rules|snippets, --search, --deleted, --format json. |
dict add PHRASE [--replace TEXT] / dict add --file entries.json |
Adds words or rules. Backs up first and prints a batch id. --dry-run shows the plan. |
dict remove PHRASE... |
Soft-deletes, as the app does. |
dict undo --batch '<id>' |
Removes everything one dict add created. |
dict backup |
Saves the dictionary table as JSON. |
